Mixed springtails are our most popular springtail culture and for good reason - it is teeming with a variety of active springtails. This is not a skimpy culture that contains just eggs. This is an 8oz. culture with 100+ springtails on soil substrate, and it contains several species of hardy, proven bioactive appropriate springtails. It's great for semi-arid bioactive vivariums, ant colonies, and isopod bins. The mixed springtail cultures may contain any of the springtail species we keep. We are asked frequently whether it's okay to mix springtails in an enclosure or vivarium, and, yes, it's not only safe, but it is beneficial to have a diverse population of springtails and isopods in a bioactive enclosure. Packed well and shipped fairly quickly. The springtails were lively and numerous. I feel like springtails on soil substrate look more numerous than the ones on clay. I am looking forward to growing the culture out for as long as I can and to order more if I get impatient with their growth, as the price is great for the amount and quality you get.
I ordered a mixed culture of springtails and a culture of "Silver" semi-arid springtails for my bioactive enclosure. I cannot recommend iheartbugs enough! They arrived on time, in excellent condition and were packaged very well. Sara is awesome! She got them shipped out during a tropical storm! Her communication with the order was fantastic.
