Mixed springtails are our wildly popular springtail culture and for good reason - it is teeming with a variety of active springtails.  This is not a skimpy culture that contains just eggs. This is an 8oz. culture with 100+ springtails on soil substrate, and it contains several species of hardy, proven bioactive appropriate springtails.  Some species spend most of their time in the soil, and others stay mostly on top of the soil.  It's great for arid bioactive vivariums, ant colonies, and isopod bins.  The mixed springtail cultures may contain any of the springtail species we keep.  We are asked frequently whether it's okay to mix springtails in an enclosure or vivarium, and, yes, it's not only safe, but it is beneficial to have a diverse population of springtails and isopods in a bioactive enclosure.  Please see the listing for Large Master Cultures for large booming master cultures which contain 500+ springtails.

Live animal flat-rate USPS 2-3 Day Priority Mail shipping is $18. **USPS is having significant delays and is losing boxes** Live arrival guarantee with USPS is ONLY if your temperature is 50F to 80F.

UPS 2-Day $30. Live arrival guarantee if your temps are 45F to 80F. Any supplies ordered in addition to the live animals may ship separately.

UPS Overnight Air $60. Live arrival guarantee if your temps are 45F to 80F. **NOTE: Supplies must be purchased separately or the UPS Overnight option will not be displayed if there is any product that is not a live animal in your cart.

All shipping options include an insulated box, medical grade temperature control pack,.

We ship Monday through Wednesday only to minimize the risk of the live animals being delayed in possible harsh weather conditions over the weekend.

*For USPS, if your temperature is under 50F or above 80F, the box must be held for pick up at your local hub or post office for the live arrival guarantee.  Even if you will be home to receive the package, these are live animals and they cannot survive extreme temperatures in a hot or cold delivery vehicle all day.  If your temps are below 40F, it is unsafe to ship live animals, and the animals will not be shipped until the temperature is above 40F in your area. Live arrival guaranteed for the count purchased.  It does not include any extras that may be sent.  Please read full shipping policy.

Hold for pick up can be requested by typing HOLD in text box located near the "quantity" button or in the notes at checkout.  Your order will be held for pick up at your local post office.

A thriving mix of springtails! Packaged very well. Since it's a soil culture a ton of adults survived transit. Lots of jumping when I opened up the container lol. Definitely recommend this shop!

Packed well and shipped fairly quickly. The springtails were lively and numerous. I feel like springtails on soil substrate look more numerous than the ones on clay. I am looking forward to growing the culture out for as long as I can and to order more if I get impatient with their growth, as the price is great for the amount and quality you get.

I ordered a mixed culture of springtails and a culture of "Silver" semi-arid springtails for my bioactive enclosure. I cannot recommend iheartbugs enough!
