These palm frond paddles are curved and rigid and can be used to make intricate ledges in bioactive terrariums.  Palm frond paddles are also a nice addition to aquariums.  They release a low amount of tannin, and they last longer than leaves since they are a bit thicker and rigid.

Preparation for Aquarium Use:

1. Boil:  Boil the pods for at least 15 minutes to help them sink and leach initial tannins.
2. Soak:  Soak in clean water overnight or longer if needed, changing water daily, until they are fully waterlogged and the desired amount of tannin has been leached.
3. Ready to Use:  Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, they are ready to add to your tank.
