Collembola Temperate White Springtails (Folsomia candida)

Also known as Collembola springtails, Temperate white springtails or common white springtails are the long-time standard cleanup crew member.  This is the most common springtail, which has been used in bioactive tanks and used as micro feeders for many years, but there are much better suited springtails available now.  We recommend researching our other springtails or chat with us for the best springtails that fit your needs.  Folsomia candida need a humid damp environment.  The springtails come on a soil substrate so the culture can be placed on top of the substrate layer of a vivarium, and they will establish themselves in the habitat.  These springtails reproduce readily.  Folsomia candida are one of the very few springtails that will survive on charcoal (although we do not recommend using charcoal because in our experience, they produce far better on soil or clay.)  This is an 8oz. culture on soil that contains 100+ springtails.  Please see the listing for Large Master Cultures for large booming established cultures with 500+ springtails.
