Description
Isopods love sun-dried minnows! Feed a minnow onto the dry side of your isopod bin, and watch the isopods swarm the fish. If the colony of isopods is less than 100 isopods, start off by feeding a small piece of a minnow. These are 100% sun-dried minnows with no additives.
NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.
For a thriving isopod colony, provide a one- to two-inch layer of thin leaf litter, such as maple and cottonwood leaves, provide a source of calcium such as calcium carbonate, cuttlebone, or crushed eggshells, and mist the damp side of the bin as necessary so the bin does not dry out. How often you need to mist is going to be dependent on your climate. Treats such as Isopod Feast, bee pollen, freeze-dried peas, vegetables (carrots, squash, pumpkin), and dried protein (dried minnows, fish food flakes, etc.) can be provided in very small amounts once a week. Do not overfeed treats as it encourages gnats, mold, and other pests.

UPS 2-Day $30. Live arrival guarantee if your temps are 45F to 80F. Any supplies ordered in addition to the live animals may ship separately.
UPS Overnight Air $60. Live arrival guarantee if your temps are 45F to 80F. **NOTE: Supplies must be purchased separately or the UPS Overnight option will not be displayed if there is any product that is not a live animal in your cart.
All shipping options include an insulated box, medical grade temperature control pack,.
We ship Monday through Wednesday only to minimize the risk of the live animals being delayed in possible harsh weather conditions over the weekend.
*For USPS, if your temperature is under 50F or above 80F, the box must be held for pick up at your local hub or post office for the live arrival guarantee. Even if you will be home to receive the package, these are live animals and they cannot survive extreme temperatures in a hot or cold delivery vehicle all day. If your temps are below 40F, it is unsafe to ship live animals, and the animals will not be shipped until the temperature is above 40F in your area. Live arrival guaranteed for the count purchased. It does not include any extras that may be sent. Please read full shipping policy.
Hold for pick up can be requested by typing HOLD in text box located near the "quantity" button or in the notes at checkout. Your order will be held for pick up at your local post office.
