Another small springtail that is about half the size of temperate springtails. They are slow moving and don't appear to jump. These are an excellent feeder, and they work extremely well in isopod bins and vivariums. Culture is 8oz. on soil that is at least three weeks old and contains 100+ springtails.
IF YOU HAVE STRUGGLED TO KEEP SPRINGTAIL CULTURES GOING, THIS IS AN EASY TO KEEP SPECIES THAT DOESN'T DIE OFF LIKE TEMPERATE OR TROPICAL.
These springtails are also very easy to feed out to small animals from the 8oz deli cup. If you keep the cup full of substrate, the springtails crawl on the lid, and if you remove the lid carefully, there will be many springtails on the lid that can be just tapped off to feed small animals.
