P. scaber Orange Koi are different from orange dalmatian.  Koi tend to have much more orange than orange dalmatian, but they also produce some offspring that are white.  Orange Koi are a great addition to an isopod collection or a clean-up crew member in a bioactive habitat.  We keep Orange Koi the same as other common isopods.  Please see our blog and YouTube channel for care information.  We provide cuttlebone and supplemental feed carrots, squash, dried fish/shrimp and flaked fish food.

Isopods will be shipped in a container of organic peat moss, sphagnum moss, and organic leaf litter.

A thick layer of leaf litter at all times is the key to a thriving isopod colony.

FedEx Overnight is $49 and Live Arrival is Guaranteed if your temperature is 45F to 80F. If your temps are outside of this range, contact us for official FedEx hubs that the box can be held at for pick up. (FedEx Office, Walgreens, your local postal center, etc. are NOT official FedEx hubs.)

If your temperature is 40F to 45F or above 80F, we strongly recommend requesting that your box be held for pick up in the text box above the add to cart button by typing the word HOLD or YES.
