PLEASE READ: THESE SPRINGTAILS ARE VERY SMALL AND STAY IN THE SOIL. YOU MOST LIKELY WILL NOT SEE MOVEMENT WHEN YOU OPEN THE CUP OR EVEN IF YOU MOVE THE SOIL AROUND WITH YOUR FINGER. FOOD NEEDS TO BE PLACED IN THE CUP TO DRAW THE TINY SPRINGTAILS TO THE SURFACE. AFTER PLACING FOOD IN THE CUP, WAIT SEVERAL HOURS TO OVERNIGHT AND THEN THE SPRINGTAILS WILL GATHER ON THE SURFACE TO EAT THE FOOD, BUT THEY QUICKLY DISAPPEAR AGAIN WHEN YOU OPEN THE CUP.
One of our favorite arid springtails for bioactive enclosures and isopod bins. These are a smaller species that spends most of its time in the soil and is rarely on the surface, but they reproduce well once established, and they can tolerate arid environments. These springtails are very, very small and are dispersed throughout the soil. They do not stay on the surface like other springtails available. If you want your springtails to be visible in your enclosure, 24K are not a good choice. Upon magnification they are iridescent. You will not regret adding some 24K to your isopod bin or bioactive. This is an 8oz. culture on a soil substrate that contains 50+ springtails. Very limited quantities available.
