Description
This bioactive clean-up crew pack contains one culture of 20+ Trichorhina tomentosa Dwarf White isopods, 15+ P. pruinosus Powder Orange isopods, and an 8 oz. culture of a mixture of species of semi-arid springtails on substrate. This combo pack will provide the essential microfauna for your bioactive enclosure up to 50 gallons in size. These are safe and appropriate for most reptiles/amphibians.
We also offer options to add discounted isopods to the leopard gecko bioactive clean-up crew if you want to have more isopods in your bioactive habitat. All of the options contain the Original Leopard Gecko Clean-Up Crew Pack (8oz. culture of mixed species of springtails, 20 dwarf white isopods, and 15 P. pruinosus Powder Orange isopods), in addition to whichever additional isopod is listed.
Please see shipping details for shipping cost information and live arrival guarantee.
Isopods will be shipped in a container of organic peat moss, sphagnum moss, and organic leaf litter. Springtails are shipped in a container of topsoil and peat moss. Both containers can be simply dumped on top of the enclosure's substrate. There is no need to "bury" them in the substrate.
A thick layer of leaf litter at all times is the key to a thriving isopod colony.

I'm super happy with my order. I was not only sent isopods and springtails, I was given detailed instruction on how to care for them. I really appreciate the time and care that went into packaging my order!
Packaged wonderful and all the cultures looked wonderful! The variety was very nice :]
Communication, pricing, shipping, and quality of products exceed five stars! I love finding small businesses to support, and I Heart Bugs is one to support! I highly recommend this company!
This was my first time buying isopods, but it's clear that they were prepared and packed with intention. The package was even delayed for an extra 2 days, but everyone was still alive and active upon arrival.
My cleanup crew arrived safe and sound. They gave me a laugh, and I have to share.
The powder orange and springtails were very active. The white dwarfs, however, were oddly still. I was smart enough to look at the label and noticed the note 'They play dead.' After I laughed with relief, I had to see just how stubbornly long they would play dead. I carefully dumped the cup onto a plate and waited. And waited. And waited. Then one of the little white specs moved. Then another.
I only saw a few of them moving around but I was satisfied and gently added them to their new home ... where they promptly played dead yet again ... but not for long. Once they realized they were free, they hightailed it into the substrate and disappeared. Haven't seen them since.
The powder orange and springtails occasionally make an appearance though!
Thank you for the laugh and the warning on the label. It made my day.
