Tropical springtails are slightly larger than the temperate springtails. The name implies they are more suited for warm environments compared to other springtails, but that is not the case. They will thrive in a range of environments, including more arid enclosures. They are an excellent clean-up crew and food source in a bioactive vivarium. The springtails are at least three weeks old and are on substrate so the culture can simply be dumped into an enclosure and they will establish. Tropical springtails are slow reproducing compared to the other springtails we have. Culture is 8 ounces, and contains 100+ springtails. The cultures are at least two weeks old. The research shows Sinella Curviseta Pink, Giants, and Sinella Tropical all most likely are the same species that have developed slightly different characteristics over the years. For us, the Sinella Curviseta Pinks produce much better than the Sinella Tropicals.
